joliette - "Luz de Bengala" (CD)

Mexican Screamo, joliette's 2024 work has arrived. It was released digitally in 2023.

The previous album was also quite well received and featured a chaotic sound and performance that was not caught up in mainstream (i.e., 90's justice) thinking, but this album seems to have gone even deeper while still following their direction. There has been a pretty good wave of Spanish-language releases from Spain and Mexico this year, and joliette is one of them. The mixing and mastering was done by Jack Shirley, whose approach to sound is a good fit for a band that doesn't follow the established trends. The result is a sound that is still quite good, and that is why this band's goodness comes to the forefront.
