Orchid - "Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow!" (10inch: Red)
Orchid's 10” released in 2000, at the end of the 1990s and the dawn of a new era, is a beautiful black + yellow re-press.
It is important as a stand-alone work because it is a classic that continues to be heard throughout the ages, even though it was just a transitional work between 1999's “Chaos Is Me” and 2001's “Gatefold” and was included on the compilation with the first CD release. Their battle at the time was a battle against incomprehension and familiarity, but also a battle to open up the newly emerging EMO scene. Therefore, both in sound and in the themes of their songs, in a sense they are denying the past of hardcore history and proclaiming the arrival of their own era.
Intellectual, yet violent, emotional, and classical. There is no straggle in the act of imitating hardcore role models, burn EMO.
