Teen Daze - "Interior" (LP:Pink)

This is the 2021 work of Canadian electronic artist Teen Daze.

The artwork has changed from the nature motifs of flowers and the sea, and the fact that it is released on Cascine, the label of indie-pop band Yumi Zouma, is also an important point that cannot be overlooked when discussing this album.

The title, "Interior," when written in katakana, implies interior decoration, but let's change that idea first. Teen Daze's previous works have had the keywords "outside world" and "journey" in their vocabulary, but this album is more about one's own "inner journey," or inner world, rather than outward feelings.

The French house sound can be felt in every part of the sound. This is the origin of Teen Daze, who had been releasing ambient and dream pop works. It is no wonder, then, that the sound of "Interior" was inspired by the feeling of "love" he had when he first saw a French house music video when he was a teenager. A crush, if you will. And that feeling seems to have been the catalyst for Teen Daze's artistic awakening.

The album was mixed by Joel Ford, best known for his work with Oneohtrix Point Never, and mastered by Dave Cooley. No wonder the sound is richer and more club music oriented.

The flow from "Nite Run" to "Nowhere" is especially cool and will be on endless repeat.
