Annakarina - "Always Moving Forward" (12inch)

Annakarina, based in Pittsburgh, PA, US, is a Screamo band that was active from 2010-2015 and will return in 2020 with members of Short Fictions, Shin Guard, Scratchy Blanket, and Coma Regalia. The EP is a new release from the band, which also features members of Zegema Beach and Coma Regalia. The EP is a limited edition joint release on nine Screamo addicted labels (including 3LA) such as Zegema Beach and Larry Records.

Annakarina" is the name of a famous French actress, and it is a promise to Screamo that the actor is now the name of the band. However, the Screamo band is not a promise. The new song "We Are Passing" was born out of Chloe June's experience of coming out as transgender... I even think that the band may have moved on with the creation of this song no longer.

The powerful and beautiful Screamo song is connected to Phoebe Bridgers, a song she has openly stated as an influence. It's a very Personal Feeling (ah, here comes the Loss Leader connection), but I think that's why it sticks with you.

There are only two songs on this album. The short-lived, beautiful dramatics in them make this a supreme Screamo suite.
