As all of the original albums of BLANKEY JET CITY, a legendary band in the history of Japanese rock music, are being reissued in analog form, I have decided to deal with some of the most memorable and impressive albums, although I do not intend to deal with all of them.

Although I am not going to treat all of them, I would like to treat some of the most memorable and memorable albums of BLANKEY JET CITY. The music industry in Japan was in a bubble period in the 90's, and the hit charts of the same era were more song-like and dominated by love songs reflecting an optimistic worldview. Blankie's lack of showmanship, which appeared on the “Ikaten” album, was more than enough for us at the time to consider it a fresh rock 'n' roll song. Even listening to it now, you can still feel the coolness of a three-piece band in this recording. I also think that there was a big sense of bad-ness to it. It wasn't just the sound that everyone was listening to.

Listening to this album again now, I get the sense that the lyrics, which I thought “I don't get” at the time, have become even less clear to me as an adult. It's not a matter of sophistication or anything. On the contrary, I think that today's rock lyrics are too grating and too natural, and combined with the unique quality of Kenichi Asai's voice, it's quite interesting. The lyrics are based on the so-called “Western” music they must have been listening to, but as Japanese rock music, the sense that you can't understand what they are saying and their unique voices are very impressive. The titles of the songs also have a unique sense.

The simplicity of the performance and recording of this album is good. The sound is also too good.
