BLANKEY JET CITY - "C.B.Jim" (2xLP)

The original release was in 1993, but when I was a kid following the band, I think this or “Romeo's Heart” was the album I listened to the most.

What is C.B. Jim? It is the one with the longest front fork. I liked the guitar riff of “D.I.J.'s Pistol” a lot, but when I found out that the title of the song “D.I.J.” was the initial letters of “D-I-J” which means “(D)ike (I)ike (J)life”, I almost fainted because it was so lame, but now I can smile because it is a super cool name. But now I can smile at how cool the name is.

In the end, I feel that “Bad People” is a great song, and one that is filled with nostalgic memories.

Listening to it again now, I feel that the recording itself is pretty lackluster (the live performance has a cooler center of gravity), but it is the bands of the 90s that give us what the modern bands of today don't have, what they are overwhelmingly lacking. I felt like the musically serious Michel Gun Elephant was the music of college students and Blankie Jet City was the music of delinquents. Every single lyric is totally unintelligible and awesome. This is what I mean by momentum that needs no explanation. We live in a completely different world.
