Coven - "La chaleur nous accable"(LP)

A new band from France, Coven, has arrived for release in 2022.

The first EP “Le Blizzard Persiste” (2020) and the second EP “La Chaleur Nous Accable” (2021) are included in this album. The second EP is not Screamo, but mid-tempo, BPM-driven hardcore like Daitro from France.

Perhaps it's the sound of the French language that makes it so, but there is something unique here that you can't get from Screamo/Skramz in English-speaking countries. Personally, I prefer the gaping sound of the first EP, but throughout, melancholic nuances and the ephemeral passion of intense hardcore coexist, making this band an interesting prospect for the future.

メランコリックなニュアンスと激情ハードコアの刹那的なパッションも同居するフランス激情の新バンド!

フランスから登場した新バンド、Covenの2022年リリース作品が到着。
結成されたのも2020年代なんですが早々と2枚のEPを制作、1stEP『Le Blizzard Persiste』(2020)と2ndのEP『La Chaleur Nous Accable』(2021)を収録したのが本作という形。2ndEPのほうは若さに任せた前のめりのScreamoではなく、同国フランスのDaitroのようなミッドテンポなBPM主体の激情ハードコア。フランス語の響きがそうさせるのか、ここには英語圏のScreamo/Skramzでは味わえない独特のものがある。個人的には最初のEPの隙のあるサウンドのほうが好みだが、全体を通してメランコリックなニュアンスと激情ハードコアの刹那的なパッションも同居しており、今後の動きが気になるバンドであります。
