Crumb - "Ice Melt"(LP)

A number of ice melts and drops of water drip down. At the end of each drop of water, a puddle forms. If each piece of music is ice, it becomes one at the end. This album is like a concept album.

This is the second 10-song album by Crumb, a four-piece band from Brooklyn, released in 2021. The cover of this album is a departure from the pink and yellow colors used in the past, and is now dark, melancholy, and rugged in black.

This album has a sophisticated quality that is different from their previous albums, which were full of progressive and jazz rock.　Jazz, psychedelic, hip-hop, noise.... The taste itself is quite strong, and you might be full after eating it all at once, but surprisingly, you can go back to it again and again. Yet, it is not cloying and is somewhat light.

The sound of the electric piano spilling out of the bowl is like a drop of water dripping down.

Jonathan of Foxygen is on board as a producer, and when I hear the direct influence of his participation, I feel hope for their unknown growth potential.
