Forests - "Get In Losers, We're Going To Eternal Damnation" (LP)

Singaporean emo band Forests, which has visited Japan in the past and is well-known in Japan, has just released their 2022 LP.

I feel that Asian emo music, including Japanese emo, is generally pop-punk + twinkle + mash-rock tapping ensembles, but Forests also has such elements, and I can feel the resonance with Japan. The previous album and the second album also had a pop feel and many comical themes, and I felt that the band's performance was very strong, but this album is even more updated musically, and I can feel it in songs like “Jazz Ruined My Life.

Overall, the album follows the emo revival of around 2010, and it is undeniable that the influence of Algernon Cadwallader and after is evident. On the other hand, if you like that kind of music, you'll love it.

Visually, they look very gloomy, but their music is very positive. And there is a lot of energy. The last song, “Yoko Oh No” is the best. Yoko Ono?
