Gekion Yawa ZINE - “Tokyo Distro: A Personal Account - Chofu Edition” (ZINE)

This zine is written entirely in Japanese.

I wrote a distro book as reference material for *Gekion Yawa*. I’ve compiled it in *Gekion Yawa ZINE - “Issue Of Distro #1.0” (ZINE)*, but no matter how much I discuss the history of distros or their significance within that context, it remains merely a macro perspective. However, I believed that this music scene is also a accumulation of individual histories, and that it can only be fully complemented by writing from a micro perspective. Therefore, this work is a story and an essay told from the micro perspective of the countless individuals involved in distro throughout history, written with the aim of getting to the very essence of the question, “What is distro?” It’s a 32-page original piece, but I’ve positioned it as the “Spring Snow” equivalent within Yukio Mishima’s “Sea of Fertility,” focusing on events in Chofu, where 3LA was born. The next installment is scheduled to continue with the Hachioji chapter. In other words, the soul continues to reincarnate. Words, ideas, and even my own self—I received them from others and reincarnated them into my own activities and expressions. I may never know in my lifetime just how much of 3LA has been reincarnated into the future. I hope you’ll enjoy that process of inheritance and transformation.

激音夜話の資料としてのディストロ本は書きました。「激音夜話ZINE - "Issue Of Distro #1.0" (ZINE) 」にてまとめていますが、いくらディストロの歴史や文脈における意義を語ったところでそれはあくまでマクロな視点。でもこの音楽シーンって個人の歴史の積み重なりでもあってミクロ視点でも書くことによって初めて補完されると考えていました。なので、この話は歴史に無数に存在するディストロ個人のミクロ視点での物語であり、エッセイであり、そして「ディストロとは何か？」を本質的な部分で迫るべく書いたものになります。全32Pの、書き下ろしですが三島由紀の『豊穣の海』でいうところの『春の雪』的立ち位置として、3LAが生まれた調布での出来事に焦点を当てており、次回は八王子編へと続く予定です。つまり、魂は転生してゆくのです。言葉、思想、自分自身もそれを誰かから受け取り、自分の活動へ、表現へと転生させていきました。3LAの先へと転生していったものがどれほどだったかは一生わからないかもしれません。その継承と変化の過程を楽しんで欲しいんだよな。
