MIKUdAUKO - "侃侃諤諤" (CD)

MIKUdAUKO's alternative rock album from Nagoya City has arrived.

While the opening tracks sound distinctly post-punk, making you go “!?”, the flow as it progresses into the middle and latter parts explodes with an alternative rock, grunge-like quality. I feel like there might be some common thread among the post-punk and alternative bands spreading around the Nagoya area, but my own perspective hasn't quite reached that point yet.

They employ a technique of layering punk's emotional intensity over inorganic beats. The connection between the band name and Kumi Koda remains unclear. Since there doesn't seem to be a Bandcamp preview, I'll share two tracks from the album that stood out to me. These are better than the album trailer.

名古屋のオルタナティブロック、MIKUdAUKOのアルバムを入荷。バンドアルバム冒頭こそポストパンク然とした音で「!?」となるが中盤・後半になるにつれて爆発していく流れはオルタナティブロック、グランジの様相がある。名古屋周辺に拡がっているポストパンクやオルタナティブのバンドにある種の共通点を見いだせそうな気がするが、今のところ自分の見解はそこまでには至っていない。無機質なビートにパンクのエモーショナルを乗せる手法があり、バンド名と倖田來未の関係性は不明ではある。bandcampの試聴は無さそうなので、アルバムの中で特に良かった2曲を載せておきます。アルバムトレイラーよりこちらのほうが良い。
