Nobody Celebrates My Birthday - "閻魔(Enma)" (CD)

Appears from Sapporo, Hokkaido, in the north of Japan.

The title of the previous work was “Oni.” The title of this work is “Enma.” In a time when many cool bands are borrowing motifs from Christian culture, this title feels like it's going to a place no one else is going. The word “Enma” is something I haven't heard in years (maybe since I was a kid). So, I think they're probably that kind of band. If you're that kind of person, I definitely recommend it.

Enma is the king of the underworld in Buddhism and is believed to judge the deeds of the dead during their lifetime. Originally originating from the Indian mythological god of death, Yama, Enma was incorporated into Buddhism and spread to Japan via China.

日本の北、北海道から登場。
前作のタイトルは『鬼』だった。本作のタイトルは『閻魔』だった。いま多くのイケてるバンド達のモチーフがキリスト教文化圏からの拝借ばかりになっている中、誰も取りに行かない場所を取りに行っている感のあるこのタイトル、「閻魔」なんて言葉は何年も(もしかしたら子供のとき以来)聞いていないくらいのレベル。つまり、彼らはきっとそういうタイプのバンドなんだと思う。あなたがそういうタイプの人間だったら確実におすすめします。
