Pohgoh - "Secret Club" (CD)
Pohgoh - "Secret Club" (CD)
The 2nd album 20 years after the 1st album, which is not a rehash of the past but an EMO of the present, but still established the Pohgoh style without losing the originality.
I have seen many times in the 90's that people were disappointed with their albums after reunion, no matter how much they were treated as legends, but this was not the case with Pohgoh. Who the hell is Pohgoh without any blanks in these 20 years? I think that the goodness of the first album includes the scuzziness of the bass and the atmosphere peculiar to that time, but this album is quite different in terms of sound production and songs.
Personally, I like the scuzzy sound of the first album, but it is good to know that the girls did not consider the scuzzy sound to be their signature. The songs are not as coarse as they were back then, but are much more sophisticated with solid compositions and harmonies.
Her "EMO" is not based on the nostalgia of the 90's, but on the feeling and emotion of living in the present. The sound engineer J.Robbins is a key figure in establishing Pohgoh's sound as the EMO of today without losing its originality. Cat jacket.
