Yvonxhe - "De Praestigiis Daemonum" (CD)

Yvonxhe's first album was released in 2012 on Zero Dimensional records, a label that supports the black metal scene in Japan.

After the four-song demo released before the album, Yvonxhe signed with a label and produced this album. The primitive black metal sound of the demo has receded a bit, and the direction and sound of the songs are slightly different from the demo.

The songs from the demo have been re-recorded and included on the album, so a comparison of the two will reveal some definite changes. The overall tuning has been lowered and the vocal style and sound has been oriented toward a more down-to-earth style and sound.

The production has also improved slightly. According to an interview on their official website, the theme of the album is anger and sadness toward modern Japan, and the band has distanced themselves from the common image of Satanism.

The songs are often criticized on review sites for being too short, and the disposable guitar riffs are a metaphor for the corporate slaves who are being discarded by capitalism.

国内ブラックメタルシーンをサポートするZero Dimensional recordsより2012年にリリースされたYvonxheの1stアルバム。アルバム前にリリースされた4曲入りデモの後にレーベルと契約し制作された本作ではデモでみられたようなプリミティブなブラックメタル感は若干後退し、僅かばかりではあるが楽曲の方向性やサウンドにもデモと相違点がある。そのデモ収録曲も再録されてアルバムに収録されているので比較してみると確かな変化が感じられるだろう。全体的なチューニングは下がり、より底へ底へと向かうようなボーカルのスタイル、サウンドを志向するようになった。若干プロダクションも向上している。オフィシャルサイトに掲載されているインタビューによると現代日本への怒りや悲しみといったことをテーマにしており一般的なサタニズム=悪魔崇拝というようなイメージとは距離を置いている。レビューサイト等でも曲が短過ぎると叩かれるその生き急ぎ系楽曲かつ使い捨てのギターリフは資本主義に使い捨てられる社畜達のメタファーである。
