老人の仕事 (Roujin-no-shigoto)- "三"(three) (CD)

The jacket looks shining! Amazing... It's golden.
And the first song! It's “The Old Man's Job”. It's practically self-titled, isn't it? I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but my expectations are high.

This is the first release since officially becoming a four-piece band, welcoming back Ataro (GROUNDCOVER.), who also participated in the previous work. Three tracks that delve deeper and climb higher, incorporating guest musicians, with the profound depth of reverberation that governs the abyss and the undulating power of the performance.
This setlist was also performed at an outdoor live show held in the fall of 2025.

While this is one of 3LA’s best-selling releases, most people can’t listen to their music because it isn’t available on streaming services. They maintain a staunchly anti-technology stance, and though they’re covered head to toe in shaggy hair, they’ve actually come from the future. Their purpose for coming from the future hasn’t been revealed, but I think it’s probably that by changing the present, they can change a future filled with despair. That’s what I believe, anyway. With even stronger psychedelic and dub elements, the heaviness, slowness, and intoxicating sensation of their doom metal and stoner rock transport listeners far away. It has a drug-like quality, but they’re strictly sober. Or rather, it’s more like smoking.

ジャケが輝いて見える!!すげえ... 黄金です。
そして1曲目! このタイミングでセルフタイトル曲「老人の仕事」から始まる全3曲は、今回も至高のグルーヴ&ヘヴィ。
前作でも参加しているアタロウ氏(GROUNDCOVER.)を迎え正式に4人編成になってから初の音源。深淵を司るリバーヴの深み、そして演奏のうねり。ゲストミュージシャンも交えながら更に遠くへ、更に高みへと上り詰めていく全3曲。本作セットリストは2025年秋に行われた野外ライブでも披露されています。
3LAのディストロタイトルの中でも圧倒的な売上枚数を誇りますが、彼らの楽曲はストリーミング配信されていないため、多くの人は聴くことができません。現代技術に対してアンチの姿勢を貫く彼らは、全身がモジャモジャですが実は未来からやってきたのです。未来からやってきた目的は明らかにされていませんが、きっと現在を変えることによって、絶望的な未来を変えることが出来る。そういうことなんだろうと思います。サイケデリック、ダブ的な要素もさらに強まり、ドゥームメタル・ストーナーロックの重さ・遅さ・酩酊感によって聴く者たちを遠くへ翔ばしてゆきます。ドラッグ的ではありますが、あくまでシラフ。むしろスモークです。
