青い薔薇 (aoibara) - "wave flower" (CD)

This is an album released in 2023 by a female vo shoegaze Japanese rock band from Osaka called Blue Roses.
To be honest, the genre that I don't understand the most is Japanese rock and Japanese shoegaze. However, most of the recent Japanese shoegaze albums are filled with the smell of sparkling adolescence, which makes me reject them with a "Ugh! I think their sound has a "shadowy" feel to it, which is a good thing.
They are probably a very young band, so their sound and performance are still a bit rough, but it has the atmosphere of the underground band scene in the 2000s. If this were done with a high-fidelity recording, it could be really boring, but whether it is intentional or natural, it makes sense because it is done with an indie sound in full throttle. There is a mysterious discovery in the contrasting drum performance with the floating and roaring guitars, which is original and unexpected, but above all, the lyrical world of "Sekai-kei" in full swing, which some listeners may reject, is quite interesting, and may even be appealing to some. I recommend this album to those who listen to early SUPERCAR, ani-gaze, and mik-gaze. 3LA Japanese rock club members should definitely check this album out.
