Anisakis + Douglas - split (7inch + DL)

A split 7" from Tokyo post-punks ANISAKIS, whose last full-length album was also very well received at 3LA, and Hyogo's Douglas, who are new to the scene.
ANISAKIS is a rock band with a 70's-80's British feel, a Smiths-like malaise, an Ultrabox-like beat, and the inorganic pop sense of BOØWY in their "Just a Hero" period, plus a touch of Japanese folk dreariness and Edogawa Rampo-like Yonjakan taste. This album also has a unique sound that is somehow catchy. I think this album is a record of something that is becoming core in the land of Tokyo.
Douglas, on the other hand, is super dark post-punk that leaves everything behind and pushes forward, making ANISAKIS sound extra catchy.
It has a Zymotics-like punk feel to it, but it's more about killing humanity. The song structure is also good, with a long intro that makes you think it's an instrumental. The download also includes demo versions of each band, which I think the creators who are in a band or something will enjoy more.
