Homeshake - "Midnight Snack" (LP)

This is the 2015 release from Montreal, Canada's Homeshake. In their earlier work, Homeshake played all the instruments themselves, giving it the handcrafted feel of bedroom emo, but in this work, the guitars, drums, and other elements that characterized their previous work have been replaced by machines. The guitars were replaced by synths, and the drums by rhythm machines.

Musically, the album has a strangely Japanese feel, a mix of D'Angelo's human-powered groove and Chiemi Manabe's pop. The title Midnight Snack = Ramen, also very Japanese. This musical change seems to be influenced by the changes in his own life. And the comfort of the sound, which is not noisy and can be used as background music in daily life, remains unchanged.
