Raein - "Ogni Nuovo Inizio" (LP)

Raein has a unique presence with songwriting and performance skills that can be considered the pinnacle of Italian screamo.

Raein has been active since 2002 and includes members of La Quiete. They have toured Japan with Tokyo's Lhasa and others, and are quite well known in Japan. The group was temporarily disbanded, but returned to the scene with this album.

It is regrettable that I do not understand Italian, but the world view of the album is thorough and it is clear that the album was produced based on a certain concept.

Raein's post-revival sound is considerably different from the Italian groups such as La Quiete and My Vain Therapy, and the delicate tones and guitar ensemble are beautiful. The songs are overflowing with melody, and even though they are chaotic hardcore, there are no heavy metal elements. The band's mentality, including a return from English lyrics to their native Italian, shows that they are moving into a new phase of their career. The band's unabated vigor and expressive power, which has evolved even more than in the early days, are on full display, and the result is a masterpiece that even makes one feel god-like now.

There are many melancholy screamo bands, but Raein's new album is not a nostalgic revival, but rather an attempt to create a new path for the Italian screamo legends, with ambient elements in addition to emotional elements. This is not a nostalgic revival.
