Syndrome81 - "Béton Nostalgie" (LP)

Prisons imaginaires" (2022) was a masterpiece. This compilation album is a collection of the band's earlier works. It contains demos, splits, singles, etc., but it is a different, more raw expression of street punk than the sound of their latest work.

Straight gradually deepens its darkness from the style of Oi! Punk, and fuses it with post-punk to create a unique originality, but one of its keywords is a departure from "American influence," and it comes down to an expression of their own city, their own color, and what it is. The band members themselves are already not of the younger generation, and the kind of resignation that underlies their expression gives their expression a deeper reality.

フランスのSyndrome 81による過去音源を連ねた編集盤LP。
バンド2013年のデモテープでパンクシーンで注目を集め始め、Oi!パンクの文脈にありながら"アメリカ"を削ぎ落としてポストパンクと融合していく。湿気があり、暗く、フランス特有のメロウさがありながらも確かにパンクである。歌詞は、日本語にすると駄洒落みたいになってしまうが、老いや成長についても焦点を当てている。言わばアルバム『Prisons Imaginaires』までの軌跡を記録したものです。
