deerafter - "Cardborad" (CD)

This is the first album by deerafter, a band from Sapporo, released from Friend Of Mine in 2020

The band is influenced by the US emo revival from the 2000s onward, and I am surprised that they are now appearing as a music of the younger generation, but their music has a less nerdy, melodic punk-leaning groove (also from the 90s onward). The performance and recording are very rough, and the vocals are masculine. 

The music is a mixture of elements that seem to be at odds with “twinkle emo,” and it's a half-assed, forceful merging of the two that would be impossible without a lot of momentum.” I have no idea about the “northern land” element, but I'm sure it's completely different from the Tokyo feel.
