Indian Summer itself is required listening, but I hope this reaches young people who are deliberately collecting LPs in an era where you can hear everything online. The Bandcamp text lists them as one of the four major early EMO bands, alongside Rites of Spring, Moss Icon, Cap’n Jazz, and Indian Summer. Brilliant—maybe Japan should make this part of compulsory education too. Included is a 28-page booklet with detailed liner notes that let you feel their ethos (or rather, not something so grand—maybe they were just trying to do their own thing). Some even say this booklet is the real main event. No matter how widespread streaming becomes, the gods only reveal truth to those who try to read the expression.
