Boston's Emo Violence NEW FORMS

Back in 2020, 3LA stocked their previous cassette tape, but since then the lineup has changed, and now includes members from Youth Funeral, Lessener, and Casper Elgin. This is New Forms' 2023 release on vinyl. Its texture blends emo violence with the cold, hard-edged expression of 90s chaotic noise, making it quite progressive. As mentioned in the ZBR text, it also carries hints of nuvolascura and Blind Girls. While it might not feel like this boundary-crossing expression has arrived at any particular destination, once it explodes, there's no stopping that energy until it dissipates.

かつて3LAでは2020年頃に前作カセットテープを入荷していたが、その後メンバーも変わって現在ではYouth Funeral, Lessener, Casper Elginのメンバーも加入しているというNew Formsの2023年作、のレコード。エモバイオレンスと90年代カオティックの冷たく硬質な表現が混ざったような質感で、それは結構プログレッシブでもあり、ZBRでのテキストでも書かれている通りnuvolascuraやBlind Girls味があるとも言えると思う。そういった越境的な表現がどこかにたどり着いたかと言われたらそうでもない気もするが、とにかく爆発してしまったら最後、そのエネルギーは散ってしまうまで誰にも止めることは出来ない。
