Odessa, a heavy alternative / post-rock band from Italy. Although tagged with the self-proclaimed "post-hardcore" label, the mid-tempo groove and guitar riffs woven together with distinctively unique vocals are completely different from what I had imagined, almost giving off a stoner rock element in a sense. The jacket artwork is smoke, after all. Among the members are musicians from Concrete—a band I consider a Japanese-style passion-hardcore (gekijo) legend in Italy—and it seems many of them originally played in hardcore bands. That said, the depth of this middle-aged heavy rock, completely devoid of any passion-hardcore feel, means it probably won't sell well, but that's great in its own way too.
