Burden of Despair - "Confutatis -原罪神授-" (CD+ZINE)

Kansai doom/death band Burden of Despair's 2025 album comes with not only a soundtrack but also a zine with a text-based presentation.
The abstract list of keywords in the release information made me think, “What the hell is this band? But when I checked the zine and the contents of the zine, I found that the band had delved into an issue that Japanese people are reluctant to touch, and that the album is an intense metal album with doom, brutal, hardcore, and SLAYER-like sharpness of riffs. very strong metal album. The song “Nega-Messiah + 偽救世主” has a similar worldview to that of SWARRRM's False Messiahs, although the musicality is different. This is the “ heaviness”!

関西ドゥーム/デス、Burden of Despairの2025年アルバム、音源だけでなくテキストベースの表現が為されたZINEも付属。
リリースインフォの抽象的なキーワードの羅列から「なんだこのバンドは!?」と思ったが、送られてきた現物を確認し、そのZINEの内容も含めてなかなか日本人が触れたがらないイシューに踏み込んだ内容となっており、かつ音楽性としてもドゥームだがブルータルでハードコア、かつSLAYER的なリフの鋭利さも兼ね備えた強烈なメタルアルバムとなっている。なお、楽曲「Nega-Messiah + 偽救世主」にも見られるように音楽性は違えど、SWARRRMの偽救世主共とも似た世界観もあると思う。これが"重さ"だ!
