FOURTHSUN - "Eclipse"(LP)

FOURTHSUN, an Italian band's 2025 album. I'd never heard of them before—totally off my radar. The disconnect between the album cover's vibe and the actual sound is huge. Italy, or rather Shove Records releases, have a lot of bands like that.

It's metallic post-hardcore, but when you play post-hardcore with such precision, it becomes metalcore.
For us scramz fans, precision isn't what we're after.

There's an unspoken rule among those who prefer irrational rituals—they want explosive energy hammered out in the performance. People connect through underground networks. I think this band embodies that. In other words, I don't know this band, but there's something resonant about them. They're cool. Chaotic.

イタリアのバンド、FOURTHSUNの2025年のアルバム。

全然知らないノーマークのバンドだったし、アルバムジャケから受ける印象と実際の音の乖離が激しい、イタリアには、というよりShove Recordsのリリースにはそういうバンドが多い。メタリックなポストハードコアだが、ポストハードコアを整然とした演奏でやるとそれはメタルコアになるし、激情好きにとっては整然さは求めてはいない。爆発するようなエネルギーを演奏で叩きつけてほしい、という非合理な儀式を好む人々がアンダーグラウンドのネットワークを通じて交信するような暗黙のルールがある。それがこのバンドにはあると思う。つまり、このバンドのことは知らないが、このバンドには何か共鳴するものがある。かっこいいです。カオティック。
