Formed in Tijuana, Mexico, Habak is currently one of the most remarkable bands carrying on the lineage of Spanish emo-crust. They inherit the emotional performance style, desolate melodies, and killer riffs represented by bands like Ekkaia, Madame Germen, and Das Plague—groups that left a profound mark in the 2000s. Their high level of expressiveness, maintaining drama and tension even through extended, long-form tracks, also echoes the appeal of Ictus.

While inheriting the spirit of these predecessors, the core of their expression lies in the sorrow, despair, and anger they face as people living in the modern world. Yet, these swirling emotions never swallow them in pure negativity; instead, they are sublimated into art where classical beauty and the intensity of hardcore punk bleed together. With many slow, atmospheric passages, their music resonates strongly with Emo and Screamo. This connection isn't just musical—it's also reflected in their introspective worldview, lyrics, and the artwork created by Alex CF (known for his work with Fall of Efrafa, Light Bearer, and many others). The artwork presents a profound perspective, contrasting flowers, insects, and organic ecological systems against human-made capitalist structures.
