2023 Album ‘DISASTER’ = “Catastrophe,” It's vs. the World

The 2023 album ‘DISASTER’ is the first album released in five years since 2018's ‘enemy’. True to its title, it depicts a “disaster” beyond human control. Its defining feature is a vast worldview beyond individual power, confronted by the skramz expressed within it. This is clearly an expression directed at the modern world. The approach of conveying the changes demanded of the era not through “lyrics” but through the world of sound resonates with City Of Caterpillar. Explosive tracks like “Heaven is Still” and “Stage Whisper” even carry an anthem-like quality.

While the album title may evoke the COVID-19 pandemic, it actually distills a more abstract theme, presenting an album about the individual versus the world. Lowercase ‘enemy’, uppercase ‘DISASTER’. Are we truly powerless to act against disasters unfolding far away, forced only into silence and exhaustion?
