sans visage - "drowned / resistance" (CD)

sans visage, who pioneered Screamo in Japan in the mid-2010s, are making a comeback and releasing an EP in 2025!

I saw them perform again recently at an additional show for LA's nuvolascura during their Japan tour. Their performance was incredibly polished, showing no signs of rust (though I wasn't worried about that since each member is active in other projects too), and the raw energy radiating from them was just as intense as ever—absolutely fantastic.

Their vibe suggests this revival isn't temporary but rather a consistent direction, which makes me excited.

Their sound has naturally evolved too, feeling more robust and leaning towards the metallic. I think sans visage's revival in 2025, at this precise moment, is significant.

2010年代中頃、日本国内のScreamoを切り開いたsans visageが復活、2025年にEPをリリースします!

来日したLAのnuvolascuraのジャパンツアー追加公演で共演する彼らを久しぶりに観てきましたが、ブランクを感じさせない演奏の洗練さはもちろんですが(メンバーそれぞれ他でも活動しているからそれは心配していなかったけど)内側から発せられるエネルギーは熱くてあの頃のまま、とんでもなく良かったです。

復活が一時的なものではなくコンスタンスに動きそうな雰囲気も感じさせていて楽しみな気持ちにさせてくれます。音の感じも、当然ながら変化をしていて骨太かつメタリックに寄ってきてる気がする。2025年、このタイミングでのsans visage復活は意味あると思います。
